Exhibition ¡°Global Warming¡±

On March 5th, in the first class of Advertisement Design
for the juniors of visual communication design dept.,
I talked to the class about how serious the global warming was.
And as an express project,
I proposed to hold an exhibition with enlightening posters.

I started conveying the imminent status of the global warming
at 2 p.m., and wanted the students to submit their thumbnail sketches
by 9 p.m. in the evening. Asking the students to draw 31 ideas
of their own creation on each cell of an A2-size-paper
which produced after being folded up several times.

Setting up the key words as ¡®Stop Global Warming¡¯, ¡®It¡¯s so hot!¡¯
and ¡®No more!¡¯, I kind of forced them to come up
with associated images.

I was astonished when I look at all those thumbnail sketches
submitted at the deadline.

With all the 32-partitioned papers which were full of
amazing ideas created within just a few hours
on the first day of the semester,
I came in great hopes.??

Most of the works exhibited here have been improved
and materialized based on the ideas submitted on
the first day of the class.

Posting up and sharing the design process day by day
at ¡®greencanvas.com¡¯, it was meant to communicate
the seriousness of the global warming to other people.

Through opening each step of design process,
how the ideas were shaping up into complete posters,
to the public, it gave a great opportunity for the designers
as well as the visitors to
better understand the global warming.

The works will keep up conveying the messages being
transformed in proper ways according to various media.

This exhibition is the first step of a long journey to be displayed,
with additional works, at various places in and out of the country.
The next schedule will be posted up on the message board
of ¡®greencanvas.com¡¯.

I pay my respects to the students who put lots of efforts to
create the works and their supportive parents.

And for those who helped a lot to realize the exhibition,
I thank you so much.
