QAQA/50 Q: "I would really love for you to come and inspire us more" 2월 25일, 손녀가 다니는 학교 5학년 반 아이들 24명으로부터 각각 연필로 직접 쓴 편지 24개(아래)를 받았다. 담임선생님이 지침을 준듯, 문체가 비슷했다. 나는 야스민(손녀 이름)과 같은 반 5학년, 올 해 지구의 날 4월 22일에도 또 와서 티셔츠 그림도 그려주고 녹색영감을 전해달라는 내용, 작년 4월 22일 지구의 날 손녀의 초청(첫 편지)을 받아 뉴욕의 공립학교 PS85Q 4학년 교실을 방문해서 그림도 그려주고 지구온난화와 관계된 디자인도 보여주고 질의응답도 하고... 말은 잘 통하지 않았으나 각가지 교감의 형식을 통해 무엇인가 새로운 감흥을 아이들에게 전달된 것 같은 느낌을 받았다. 학부모들에게서도 학교에서 무슨 일이 일어났는지 아이들이 할아버지 이야기만 한다고 감사하다는 이메일이 전해왔다. 학부모회에서 매년 지구의 날 방문할 수 있겠냐는 요청도 왔다.
